Important Factors to Consider
When comparing ETF’s here are some important factors to consider:
The main ETF issuers in Australia are:
The benchmark is the investment index the ETF is attempting to track.
For example if you want to buy an ETF that will provide an exposure to the ASX market index the best index to track is the S&P/ASX 200 index.
You will want to choose an ETF which tracks the index you want to gain investment exposure to.
MER stands for Management Expense Ratio, and is the investment cost of that ETF.
If the MER is stated as 0.5, that means the investment fee is 0.5%.
The fee is charged internally through the ETF.
